4:15pm. 19th August. 2017. Ypres, Belgium. 100 years on. To the exact minute.
At 4:15pm on the 19th of August, 1917, Captain William Johnston Knox was wounded on the outskirts of Ypres, Belgium. He passed on the 20th of August. I capture this beautiful moment when visiting the historical sites with my Dad of him standing in the spot where the shell hit that mortally wounded his grandfather. My mum knitted poppies for us to plant in the spot to remember him and everyone who fought alongside him. A moment I will never forget.
